Announced at the 2020 Shawnee Chamber Annual Dinner, Mickey Sandifer has been named the 2019 Shawnee Citizen of the Year!
Shawnee Citizen of the year
The Shawnee Citizen of the Year Award is one of three notable awards presented by the Shawnee Chamber in honor of volunteers, advocates and active community members annually. Nominations for this award are submitted from the Chamber membership and voted on by a representation of the past award winners. The individual need not be a Chamber member but should be someone who has worked hard to make Shawnee a better place to live, work and grow.

Mickey Sandifer
2019 Shawnee Citizen of the year
Mickey is an active Shawnee community member who has provided years of dedicated service to his hometown. Mickey has served on numerous city commissions and boards, while most notably serving as a City Council member for over 15 years. He is a community leader and has volunteered for many different organizations around Shawnee including church and fraternal groups. Mickey is most know for his positive attitude and his constant compassion, always asking “How are you?” and “How can I help?”
